I’m a 31-year-old parent, a first-year college student, and someone who’s no stranger to life’s challenges. I’ve been on welfare twice—once as a pregnant single woman and again after losing a job at a company that cared nothing for me. I’ve also spent my fair share of time moving back and forth between my parents' homes, trying to figure out my next steps.
